Mission

We exist to raise up disciples and lead others to Christ and, through fellowship, encouragement and the relationships built, to reinforce our beliefs so as not to falter when they are challenged later in life.

Making Disciples of the Youth Nation

Core Values

Christ Centered – 1 Corinthians 2:2 - After Billy Graham preached his first sermon to which no decisions were made, a wise man approached him and advised the young preacher to focus a little more intently on the cross of Christ. The floodgates of salvation have been wide open ever since. With this message, Paul and the apostles sparked a movement. The world became followers of the one who conquered death. They couldn’t hear enough or say enough about Christ. People began to call them “Christ-ians.” Christ was their model and their message. They preached “Jesus Christ and Him crucified” not for the lack of another topic, but because they couldn’t exhaust this one. Let that be true of FBC Student Ministries as well.

Discipleship – Luke 14:26-35 – DL Moody once said, “The world has yet to see what God will do with and for and through and in and by the man who is fully and wholly consecrated to Him.” We here at FBC Student Ministries are dedicated to raising up a generation not of Christians, but disciples. This is done not in babysitting teenagers, but discipling them. The word “disciple” is found 269 times in the New Testament, while “Christian” is only found three times, and each one in direct reference to the disciples. True marks of a disciple are youth who abide in the Word, love God and others, and bear fruit. We are asking youth to make a complete and lifelong commitment to becoming a fully mature follower of Christ.

The Word – Hebrew 4:12 – More than mere words on a page, the Bible is God’s spoken and inspired Love Letter to each one of us. It is essential that if we have any hope in sustaining an effective ministry for Christ, our very foundation must be built upon the Word of God. We must love it ourselves, and teach others to love it as their own, always remaining committed to the teaching of Scripture.

Evangelism – Romans 1:16 – The natural overflow of a vibrant Christian life is sharing with others so they too can share in this abundant life that only Christ can offer. God has given us the privilege and responsibility to spread the Good News to all people, starting here at home.
